Fall/Winter Program

Our non-competitive dance program runs from September until March and features:
– safe, quality instruction
– outfit
– class photos at Rosewood Park on Saturday, February 29th, 2020
– year end performance at the Riddell Centre Theatre at the University of Regina on Sunday, March 29th, 2020

 

Class Descriptions


Preschool Ballet / Tap Combo

Our preschool ballet and tap combo dance class is an introduction to basic ballet and tap steps and positions. This curriculum will include introductory ballet and tap skills with games incorporated. No previous dance experience is required. 

All classes require the student’s hair to be pulled back from their face. Students must wear comfortable dancewear (no jeans, no gum). Both ballet slippers (preferred colour is pink) and tap shoes (black) are required.


Ballet / Tap Combo

This ballet and tap combo dance class focuses on a number of basic ballet and tap steps and positions. This class will incorporate both ballet and tap dancing throughout the session. No previous dance experience required. 

All classes require the student’s hair to be pulled back from their face. Students must wear comfortable dancewear (no jeans, no gum). Both ballet slippers (preferred colour is pink) and tap shoes (black) are required.


Hip Hop

This dance class focuses on basic hip hop skills. Students will work on developing their abilities to control their bodies in keeping time with the music and beat. Students will learn a variety of moves and combinations (dependent on experience and age level). No previous dance experience is required. 

All classes require the student’s hair to be pulled back from their face. Students must wear comfortable dancewear (no jeans, no gum). Hip hop requires plain white runners.

 

Jazz

This dance class is a fast-paced class focused on learning jazz technique, terminology and developing flexibility. No previous dance experience required.  All classes require the student’s hair to be pulled back from their face.

Students must wear comfortable dancewear (no jeans, no gum). Jazz shoes are recommended, but black ballet slippers will also be acceptable.

  

Musical Theatre

This musical theatre class focuses on performance dancing, expressions and Broadway styles of theatre performances. This is a dance-based class and therefore dance will be the focus, but please note you may sing occasionally. No previous dance experience required. 

All classes require the student’s hair pulled back from their face. Students must wear comfortable dancewear (no jeans, no gum). Black jazz shoes or black ballet slippers are required.
