Fall/Winter Program

Our non-competitive cheerleading program runs from September until March and features safe, quality instruction, class photos, outfit (including poms where applicable) and year end performance at the Riddell Centre Theatre at the University of Regina on Sunday, March 29th, 2020.  All registrations include a Saskatchewan Cheerleading Association membership for the season.

 

Class Descriptions


Tiny Novice Level 1

Age 3 and age 4, previous experience is not required.

This non-competitive program introduces athletes to the components of cheerleading – motions, jumps, stunting, tumbling and dance. Athletes build skills through proper progressions and learn to work together. 

Note – Twin Lakes Cheer has made a change with our program offerings to align to the recognized age and skill levels as defined by the Saskatchewan Cheerleading Association and Cheer Canada.

Previously known as Cheer – Preschool 1A and Cheer – Toddler Cheer


Tiny Level 1

Ages 5 to 6, previous experience is not required.

This non-competitive program introduces athletes to the components of cheerleading – motions, jumps, stunting, tumbling and dance. Athletes build skills through proper progressions and learn to work together. 

Note – Twin Lakes Cheer has made a change with our program offerings to align to the recognized age and skill levels as defined by the Saskatchewan Cheerleading Association and Cheer Canada.

Previously known as Cheer – Preschool Cheer and Cheer – Preschool Intro to Cheer.

 

Mini Pom

Ages 5 to 8, previous experience is not required.

This is a non-competitive, dance-based program that will focus on creating effects with poms through motions, formations, footwork and jumps, then put together with creative and fun choreography. Dances will be a high-energy combination of hip hop, jazz and an element of musical theatre. No stunting or gymnastic skills will be taught in this program.

Mini Level 1

Ages 7 to 8, previous experience is not required.

This non-competitive program introduces athletes to the components of cheerleading – motions, jumps, stunting, tumbling and dance. Athletes continue to learn and build skills through proper progressions and learn to work together.

Previously known as Cheer – Intro to Cheer Beginner 1, Cheer – Intro to Cheer Beginner 2 and Cheer – Youth Intro to Cheer.

  

Youth Level 1

Ages 9 to 10, recommended two years of experience.

This non-competitive program introduces athletes to the components of cheerleading – motions, jumps, stunts, tumbling and dance. Athletes continue to learn and build skills through proper progressions and learn to work together. This extended length class allows for more instruction and development time.

Previously known as Cheer – Developing.

 

Junior Pom

Ages 9 to 14, previous experience is not required.

Previously known as Cheer – Advanced and Cheer – Junior Advanced.

 

 

Jump & Shout Cheer Camp

Featuring Senior, Level 5 and Worlds Coaches from Regina and Area

Take a break from the summer days – come out and meet some new friends, learn some new skills, and have fun!

Participants will receive:

  • Cheer scrunchie and decorator bow
  • Instruction and interaction with certified cheerleading coaches and athletes from around Regina.
  • Personalized one-on-one instruction to improve their cheerleading skills in a fun camp environment
  • Cheerleading skills to be taught at the camp include:
    • motions and dance
    • jump skills and transitions
    • basic gymnastics skills
    • beginner stunting and spotting skills
  • Campers will perform a short showcase routine for family and friends at the end of Day 2.
  • Participants must be between 5 and 13 years of age (inclusive, must be entering Kindergarten in the fall).
  • No experience is needed; we welcome beginner to advanced cheerleaders.

 

Camp Details:

August 10 & 11, 2019

9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Location Update: Boss Athletics at 637 Dewdney Avenue East – Unit D

Drop off at 8:45 am and pick up at 3:00 pm.  Please bring lunch, snacks and water.  Please refrain from packing foods containing nuts.

Cost: $100.00 per participant for camp registration or $120 per participant for camp registration and camp-themed shirt.

All campers require a Community Association membership; please add on $10.00 to the registration fee if you require one TLCA will issue you a number if you register on-line under our membership page.

 

Deadline for registration is AUGUST 1ST, 2019.  There will be a maximum of 60 participants, so register early!
